Amsterdam (The Uttam Hindu): A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight veered off the runway at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway following an emergency landing on Saturday, December 28.

The Boeing 737-800 which was en route to Amsterdam from Oslo Airport, encountered a hydraulic failure shortly after takeoff prompting the crew to divert to Sandefjord Airport, located approximately 110 kilometers south of Oslo. While the aircraft landed safely at Sandefjord Airport it lost control during the landing rollout and skidded off runway 18 eventually coming to a stop on soft grass near a taxiway as reported by media sources.

The flight was carrying 182 individuals, including passengers and crew none of whom were injured in the incident. Passengers were evacuated using mobile stairs as emergency crews quickly responded to the scene. Airport operations were temporarily disrupted as recovery efforts commenced. Authorities are assisting the affected passengers and crew members. KLM has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. Meanwhile, an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is underway.
