New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant blow to trans-border smuggling, the Commissionerate Police in Amritsar has apprehended four individuals, including a juvenile, who were involved in pushing drugs across the Ferozepur sector. The juvenile was reportedly using boats to cross the Sutlej River, retrieving consignments from areas near the international border fencing.

During the operation, authorities recovered 4.01 kg of heroin, ₹20,000 in drug money, and three motorcycles. FIRs have been registered under the NDPS Act at Police Stations Chheharta and Cantonment.

Punjab Police remains committed to eliminating drug cartels and making the state drug-free.
