Ahmedabad (The Uttam Hindu): Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised the important contribution of the people of Mithila and Bihar in the development of Gujarat. He said that this region has been the center of empowering democracy and philosophy since ancient times. Amit Shah said this while addressing the 'Shashwat Mithila Mahotsav 2025' in Ahmedabad. On this occasion, he also promised to build a grand temple of Sita Mata.

Amit Shah said in his address, when I went to Bihar during the Lok Sabha elections, I had said that the Ram temple has been built, now it is the turn to build a grand temple of Sita Mata. He further said that this temple will give the message of women power to the whole world and will tell how life can be made ideal in every way.

The Union Minister assured the people of Mithila and Bihar settled in Gujarat that they are completely safe, respected and welcome in the state. He especially praised their contribution to the development of Gujarat. Referring to the historical and cultural heritage of Mithila, Amit Shah said that this land has been the land of intellectuals since the Ramayana and Mahabharata period. He described the ancient Videha kingdom as the mother of democracy.

Recalling the statement of Mahatma Buddha, he said, Mahatma Buddha had said many times that as long as the people of Videha remain united, no one can defeat them. Describing Mithila as a strong force of democracy, Amit Shah said that this region has given its message to the whole country for years. He also described Mithila as the land of 'Shastrartha' (assembly of scholars) and informed that out of the six major philosophies of India, four have come from Mithila.
