The flight, identified as AC2259, was being operated by PAL Airlines on behalf of Air Canada, traveling between St. John's and Halifax. This accident occurred just hours after a devastating plane crash in South Korea. A Jeju Air flight carrying 181 passengers exploded upon landing at Muan Airport, leaving only two survivors, with 179 feared dead.
