New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): British citizen Michel James has got a big relief in the AgustaWestland scam case. James got bail from the Supreme Court on Tuesday. While granting conditional bail, the bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta said that Michel will have to renew his passport and surrender it. Earlier, the Delhi High Court had refused to grant bail in the CBI case.

Michel filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this. Michel was extradited to India from Dubai in 2018 and has been in custody since then. Michel cited Section 436A of the CrPC for bail, which states that if a person has completed half of the maximum sentence, he can be granted bail.
