Kanpur (The Uttam Hindu): After Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami, another Indian cricketer Amit Mishra is once again surrounded by controversies. His wife Garima Mishra has complained to the Police Commissioner accusing him of mental and physical torture. Garima alleges that Amit Mishra and his family are constantly harassing her by demanding extra money and a car in dowry. Along with this, she also alleged that Amit has illicit relations with other women and she was beaten up when she protested.

Garima Mishra told that she got married on 26 April 2021. After marriage, she was harassed for demanding a Honda City car and Rs 10 lakh in dowry. She started living with her husband in RBI Colony in Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur, but there too the interference of the in-laws continued.

Garima says that Amit Mishra has beaten her many times and many times she was kept hungry. She alleged that Amit used to talk obscenely to other women in front of her. When she protested, she was thrown out of the house in December 2024, since then she is living at her father's house.

At the same time, Amit Mishra has called all these allegations baseless. He claimed that Garima herself is harassing him and has previously beaten him outside the bank office. The Police Commissioner has ordered an investigation considering the seriousness of the matter.

Let us tell you that Amit Mishra is an experienced leg spin bowler of India. He has taken more than 150 wickets in his international career. He has 76 wickets in 22 matches in Test cricket, 64 wickets in 36 ODIs and 16 wickets in 10 T20 matches. He last played for India in February 2017. Currently he is working in the Reserve Bank of India in Kanpur.
