ACID REVENGE: Rape Accused Left Disfigured After Victim's Daring Attack

Bhojpur (The Uttam Hindu): A chilling incident has come to light in Bhojpur district's Udwantnagar police station area where a man allegedly raped his sister-in-law and was subsequently attacked with acid by the victim. The accused, Mahendra Singh alias Mahendra Yadav suffered severe burns to his face and eyes and is currently undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital under police custody.

According to reports, the victim's husband works in Delhi and she lives in the village with their two children. On Monday night, the accused entered her house and committed the heinous crime. In a bold act of self-defense, the victim threw acid on the accused. The police have registered a case against Mahendra Singh and arrested him. The FSL team is investigating the case, collecting evidence and samples from the spot. In a separate development, the Congress party has appointed Rajesh Kumar, a Dalit leader, as the new Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President, aiming to strengthen its presence in the state ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
