New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The political climate in Delhi is intensifying ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, with every party rolling out promises to attract voters. In a major announcement the Congress party has pledged to provide financial assistance of ₹8,500 per month to educated unemployed youth in Delhi for one year if it comes to power. The party also promises employment training as part of this initiative.

Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot revealed this scheme, named the ‘Yuva Udaan Yojana.’ The announcement was made in the presence of Delhi Pradesh Congress President Devendra Yadav, State Incharge Qazi Nizamuddin, NSUI President Varun Chaudhary and other leaders. Speaking on the occasion Pilot stated, "A new government will be elected in Delhi on the 5th. Congress is fighting these elections with full determination. In the past, whenever Congress was in power in Delhi significant development took place. In recent years, however, there has only been mudslinging between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and BJP MPs with little to show for the people of Delhi."

Previously, the Congress party had announced two other major guarantees:

‘Pyaari Didi Yojana’ – Offering ₹2,500 per month to women.

Insurance Guarantee – Providing ₹25 lakh insurance coverage to every resident of Delhi.

These announcements form part of Congress’s broader strategy to appeal to voters and challenge its rivals in the upcoming elections.
