Rajasthan (The Uttam Hindu): A 57-hour-long rescue operation in Rajasthan's Dausa ended tragically after a five-year-old boy, Aryan, was pulled out of a borewell but did not survive. Aryan had fallen into the 150-feet-deep borewell while playing in a field in Kalikhad village around 3 pm on Monday. The rescue operation began shortly after, with various heavy machinery such as JCBs, drilling machines, and a piling rig being used to dig a parallel tunnel. Oxygen was supplied through a pipe, and CCTV cameras were set up to monitor the boy's condition.

According to personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the operation faced multiple challenges, including the high water level of about 160 feet, difficulty capturing the boy's movements on camera due to underground steam, and safety concerns for the rescue teams. After Aryan was retrieved in an unconscious state, a green corridor was established to transport him to a hospital using an ambulance with advanced life support. Sadly, he was declared dead upon arrival.

Earlier in September, a similar rescue operation was conducted to save a two-year-old girl who had fallen into a 35-foot open borewell in the Bandikui area of Dausa. After 18 hours of effort by NDRF and SDRF teams, she was rescued from a depth of 28 feet.
