30 Lakh Extortion Demand: Minister Threatened by Lawrence Bishnoi's Associate

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Bihar Police has arrested a person from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, who had threatened the state's Labor Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from the minister, otherwise he had threatened to treat him like Baba Siddiqui. Police have also recovered a mobile phone from the accused.

Minister was threatened in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, police caught the accused: Minister Santosh Kumar Singh lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday. He alleged that a person called him calling himself gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and threatened to kill him. Also, he demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh. The minister had also informed the Director General of Police of Bihar about the incident.

According to a statement from Bihar Police, “After receiving a formal complaint from the minister, the police immediately formed a team. Using technical assistance, the police team arrested the accused from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The mobile phone from which the threatening call was made to the minister was also recovered from his possession. The accused is now being brought to Patna.
