Visa Holders at Risk! Canada’s New Rules Allow Sudden Deportations!

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Canada has begun enforcing stricter visa regulations with several new changes. Under the new rules, border officials now have the authority to cancel documents such as Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs) and Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs), which include work permits and student visas. Temporary visas can be revoked for individuals found using fake documents, providing false information, or having a criminal record.

According to the updated rules, officials have the power to cancel any individual’s permit. Canadian immigration and border officers can revoke eTAs, TRVs, work permits, and study permits at their discretion. If authorities believe that an individual is unlikely to leave Canada after their authorized stay, they now have the right to cancel their permit. Additionally, permits may also be revoked if a person’s documents are stolen, lost, or destroyed.

The new regulations further state that if a student’s work or study visa application is denied, their immigration documents will also be canceled. Furthermore, if a student’s study permit is revoked, they may face difficulties obtaining a work permit after completing their education.
