Sanaa(The Uttam Hindu):  A US airstrike in Yemen's northern city of Saada has left one person dead and four others injured, according to medics. The attack targeted a solar energy store and a house in the Hafsin area of western Saada, the capital of Saada province. Civil defense teams are currently working to extinguish fires and search for victims at the affected sites, with the casualty count still being updated. Earlier on Saturday, the Houthi group denied US claims that an American airstrike had targeted a gathering of its military leaders in Hodeidah, a Red Sea port city. The Houthis described the alleged target as a social gathering for the Eid holiday, a common practice in Yemen during festivities, according to their al-Masirah TV.

On March 15, the US military launched a fresh wave of airstrikes across Yemen aimed at weakening the Houthi group’s operational capacity. In the past two weeks, US forces have targeted Houthi air defense systems, command centers, fortified positions, and weapons depots in multiple provinces. The Houthis have also vowed to resume attacks on commercial and naval vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, citing Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza as their rationale. The group insists its maritime operations are an expression of solidarity with Palestinians and an attempt to exert pressure on Israel regarding its military actions in Gaza.
