New Year’s Eve: New Zealand Welcomes 2025, Know When and Where the New Year Begins

Auckland (The Uttam Hindu): New Zealand welcomed the year 2025 with grand celebrations. In Auckland, the iconic Sky Tower hosted a spectacular fireworks display. The excitement surrounding the new year was felt not only throughout the country but across the entire world. Special preparations were also made in Sydney to mark the arrival of the new year. A magnificent 'Family Fireworks' display was held at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House to celebrate the beginning of 2025. This show, traditionally held three hours before midnight, allowed families and children to enjoy the beautiful spectacle.

The year 2025 will be welcomed at different times across the globe, as various time zones cause each country to celebrate the new year at different hours. The first celebration of the new year took place on the Kiritimati Island (Christmas Island), which is part of the Republic of Kiribati. This island is 7.30 hours ahead of India. In total, 41 countries celebrate the new year before India.
