Quetta (The Uttam Hindu): In a deadly attack by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed. The BLA claimed responsibility, stating that its freedom fighters targeted a Pakistani military convoy using a remote-controlled IED. The organization described the attack as part of their struggle for independence.

According to the agency, the attack occurred near Margat Checkpost, about 30 kilometers from Quetta. The BLA stated that their operation against the enemy would continue with greater intensity. Just last month, the BLA had hijacked the Jaffer Express train in Quetta, which had around 450 passengers on board. At that time, they had demanded the unconditional release of imprisoned Baloch activists, political detainees, and missing persons.

Following that incident, a fierce 48-hour battle took place between Pakistani forces and Baloch fighters. The Pakistani army claimed to have killed 33 Baloch fighters and rescued all hostages safely. In contrast, Baloch fighters claimed they had killed 100 Pakistani soldiers.
