Albanese's Awkward Moment: Australian PM Falls Off Stage During Photo Shoot

Update: 2025-04-03 09:13 GMT

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese fell off the stage during a campaign event in New South Wales on Thursday (3 April). The incident happened when the Prime Minister was posing for photos after his speech during a campaign event for May's national election. Videos shared on social media show Albanese falling off the stage while he was walking to the other side. During that time, he fell as soon as he stepped back, leaving the audience stunned.

In a few moments, he composed himself, smiled and signaled the crowd with both hands to show that he was fine. Later, when he was asked about the incident in a radio interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), he downplayed it and said, "I took a step back. I didn't fall off the stage... just lost one leg, but I was good." This answer proved that he did not want to make a big deal out of the incident.

Albanese is busy in the election race

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is currently busy campaigning for the Australian national election to be held on May 3. His party, the Labor Party, is giving a tough fight to the conservative Liberal-National Party led by Peter Dutton. This is not the first time that a country's top leader has fallen during a program. Former US President Joe Biden has fallen several times during his tenure. Once he stumbled while boarding a plane. Apart from that, he fell while descending from the stage during an Air Force event. However, he did not suffer any serious injury during that time.
