Heartbreaking Bengaluru Tragedy: Son Strangles Mother to Death, Then Takes His Own Life!

Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): In a heartbreaking incident in Old Chandapura, Bengaluru 21-year-old Ramesh allegedly strangled his mother, Lakshmi Devi (41) to death during a violent altercation over his drinking habits. The confrontation turned fatal on the night of January 5, 2025 when Ramesh intoxicated at the time, lost control and used a mobile charging cable to strangle her. After committing the crime, he took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.

The family, originally from Chitradurga had been residing in a rented house in the area. Ramesh's father, Manjanna a laborer, returned home to find both his wife and son dead and immediately alerted the police around midnight. According to police reports, Ramesh had a history of alcohol abuse and frequent disputes with his mother, especially regarding her objections to his drinking.

This shocking event has left the local community in utter disbelief and highlights the tragic consequences of substance abuse within family dynamics. The police have filed a case based on Manjanna's complaint and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident.
