New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Finance Ministry has released a report on USAID funding. The report gives all the details related to the fund, how much funding USAID provided and where that fund was used? The Finance Ministry report states that USAID funded 750 million dollars i.e. about 65 billion for 7 projects in India in the financial year 2023-24. During this time, no funding was provided to increase the voting percentage.
65 billion funds came from USAID for 7 projects but not to increase voting…Finance Ministry report revealed: According to the report, USAID's funding was for projects related to agriculture and food security, water, sanitation and hygiene, renewable energy, disaster management and health. The report says that India started receiving help from America in 1951. So far, India has received financial assistance of Rs 1700 crores for 555 projects from USAID.
In fact, earlier this month, the US Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, revealed that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had given a grant of $ 21 million to increase voting percentage in India. After this disclosure by Elon Musk's department DOGE, a political uproar broke out in India. After this, Trump said that we are giving India $ 21 million aid to increase voting percentage but what about us. He also said that India does not need any funds. It has a lot of money. In such a situation, why should we give India $ 21 million aid to help in the elections?
Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has expressed concern over the USAID funding controversy. He said that the information given by America is worrying. The government is investigating it. If there is something like this, then I believe that the country should know who is involved in malicious activities.
