PM Modi Meets Macron, JD Vance at Paris Dinner Ahead of AI Summit
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Monday and attended a welcome dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace ahead of the AI Summit. Macron welcomed PM Modi with a warm hug, calling him a "friend."
During the dinner, PM Modi met several world leaders, including US Vice President JD Vance, marking their first meeting since Vance took office last month. The Prime Minister also received a grand welcome from the Indian community in Paris, expressing gratitude for their support.
After the AI Summit, PM Modi and President Macron will visit Marseille, where they will pay tribute to Indian soldiers at the Mazargues War Cemetery and inaugurate the Consulate General of India. The visit will conclude with a tour of Cadarache, home to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a major scientific project in which India is a key partner.
The AI Summit will bring together global leaders and tech CEOs to discuss the ethical development of AI. Previous editions were held in the UK and South Korea.
