Faridkot (The Uttam Hindu): The Faridkot court has acquitted gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in a case involving the extortion of 50 lakh rupees. The case stems from an incident in Kotkapura, where a businessman received threats demanding a ransom of 50 lakh rupees. The caller, who identified himself as Goldy Brar, threatened to kill the businessman and his family if the money was not paid.

A complaint against Bishnoi was filed in August 2018 in Kotkapura, leading to an investigation into the matter. In connection with another case, when Bishnoi was brought to Punjab, the Faridkot police arrested him in the extortion case and presented him before the court. His hearings were later conducted via video conferencing.

Bishnoi has also been in the news for his involvement in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and for allegedly threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
