Deadly Naxalite IED Attack in Bijapur: Nine Killed, Including Eight DRG Jawans!
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On January 6, 2025 a deadly attack took place in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh when Naxalites detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a vehicle carrying security personnel. Reports confirm that nine individuals were killed, including eight jawans from the Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG) and one driver.
The explosion occurred on Bedre-Kutru Road as the security forces were returning from a joint anti-Naxal operation in the Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur areas. Sundarraj P., the Inspector General of Police for Bastar, confirmed the casualties, revealing that the vehicle was blown up by Naxals as the forces were heading back from their mission.
This incident highlights the persistent danger posed by Naxalite insurgents in Chhattisgarh, especially in regions heavily impacted by Left Wing Extremism.
