New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Political tensions are escalating ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, particularly after AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal announced new schemes for women and the elderly. The announcement drew sharp criticism from the BJP and Congress, prompting Delhi Chief Minister Atishi to address the matter during a press conference.

CM Atishi accused the Congress of aligning with the BJP before the elections. She challenged the Congress to take action against its leaders, including Ajay Maken and members of the Youth Congress, within 24 hours. "If the Congress does not act against these individuals, it will be clear they are working to help the BJP win the elections in Delhi," she said. Atishi further stated that AAP would reconsider its position within the INDIA alliance and consult other member parties about excluding Congress.

Atishi criticized Ajay Maken for recently labeling Arvind Kejriwal as "anti-national," a remark she called intolerable. She emphasized that while BJP, despite being a rival, had not made such accusations, Congress, a part of the INDIA alliance, was not only making such remarks but also filing cases against AAP. "We cannot remain in an alliance with a party that is actively working against us," she concluded.
