BJP Paves the Way for Ram Mandir in West Bengal, TMC Stirs Controversy with Babri Masjid Announcement
Murshidabad (The Uttam Hindu): Days after West Bengal Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir proposed to build a mosque on the lines of Babri Masjid at Beldanga in Murshidabad district, now the BJP has announced plans to build Ram Mandir in Berhampore. The BJP said the construction of the temple will begin on January 22, 2025, exactly a year after the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
The temple will be built at a cost of Rs 10 crore
BJP's Berhampur organizational district president Shakharao Sarkar said that the land for the temple has already been marked and the project is estimated to cost Rs 10 crore. TMC MLA from Beldanga Kabir had announced the plan to build a mosque on Tuesday itself. While making the announcement, he said that it would respect the sentiments of the significant minority population of the area.
Kabir had said that he would build a mosque like the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad district by 2025. Kabir's statement has been strongly criticized by the opposition BJP and Congress. However, TMC has distanced itself from Humayun Kabir's comment and called it his personal opinion.
