Update: 2025-02-09 12:32 GMT

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In the first cabinet meeting of the new government in the capital Delhi, BJP has announced the formation of a special investigation team to investigate corruption cases.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said the party has zero tolerance towards corruption and those involved in scams will be held accountable. "As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said many times and we did too. The CAG report will be presented during the first Cabinet meeting. We will also form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe all cases of corruption," Sachdeva said. Commenting on the BJP's victory in the Delhi elections with 48 seats in the 70-member House, Sachdeva credited Prime Minister Modi and BJP president JP Nadda for guiding the party to success. He stressed that Delhi voters supported the BJP for development, reposing faith in Modi's leadership. On the Congress' defeat for the third time in a row, Sachdeva said despite being a historically important party, it has suffered a major decline and it should "work hard".
