Manipur (The Uttam Hindu): On Sunday evening, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has resigned from his post. He submitted his resignation to the Governor, which has created political turmoil in the state. This resignation has brought Manipur's political direction to a new turn. Security agencies have been instructed to remain on high alert.
The Chief Minister had apologised to the people in the context of the ethnic violence that took place in Manipur late last year. In the same remembrance, Biren Singh said, this whole year has been very bad. I apologise to the people of the state for whatever happened from May 3, 2023 till today. Many people lost their loved ones and many left their homes. He further said that seeing the state of peace in the last three-four months, he is hopeful that normalcy will be restored in the state in 2025.
