Arvinder Singh Lovely Sworn in as Pro-tem Speaker, Oath Administered by LG Saxena at Raj Niwas
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The three-day session of the Delhi Assembly has begun. BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely took oath as the Protem Speaker of the newly constituted Assembly. Lovely was administered the oath by LG Vinay Kumar Saxena at Raj Niwas before the first meeting of the Assembly.
Lovely, one of the most senior MLAs of the House, will now administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs. Later, a new speaker will be elected and BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta may be chosen for this post. At the same time, the name of Mohan Singh Bisht is being discussed for the post of deputy speaker. After the election is over, the newly elected speaker and deputy speaker will also be sworn in.
The oath taking ceremony has begun in the Delhi Assembly. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took oath. After her, other members of the cabinet are taking oath. After her, all the other 70 MLAs will take oath one by one. Protem Speaker Arvind Singh Lovely said that all the members should take oath according to the written format prepared by the Assembly.
