Punjab electricity alert: new rule kicks in—what consumers need to know!
Ludhiana (Khurana) (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab State Power Corporation has issued a special notification (No. 1095-1101), which addresses the N.O.C. (No Objection Certificate) condition. This decision brings significant relief to millions of families in the state who have been struggling to obtain electricity meters. Despite purchasing plots and homes in unauthorized colonies for years, these residents have faced difficulties in getting electricity connections due to the lack of N.O.C.
Following government instructions, the electricity department officials have issued a notification stating that, starting from 31 July 2024, owners of registered houses and plots up to 500 yards will be able to install electricity meters in their homes without the need for an N.O.C.
