New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat are reportedly heading towards separation after 20 years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2004 and share two sons, Aryavir and Vedant have become the focus of widespread speculation following recent personal developments. Sources suggest that they have been living separately for several months and a divorce may be imminent.

The rumors gained momentum after Sehwag and Aarti unfollowed each other on Instagram. Aarti also made her account private, further fueling public interest. During the 2024 Diwali celebrations, Sehwag posted pictures with his sons and mother but noticeably excluded Aarti adding to the suspicions of a troubled relationship. Additionally, Sehwag’s recent visit to the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Kerala, shared on social media was also without any mention of Aarti intensifying the speculation.

The couple’s journey began in childhood and blossomed into marriage in 2004 after years of friendship. Their wedding was a grand affair held at the residence of the late Arun Jaitley, then India's Finance Minister. Over the years, they were seen as a strong and supportive couple, managing Sehwag's demanding cricket career while raising their family. However, insiders reveal that signs of strain in their relationship have been apparent for some time. Neither Sehwag nor Aarti has released an official statement regarding their separation or possible divorce. While their social media activity and public appearances hint at growing distance, the couple has remained silent on the issue. Fans and followers are left to speculate as they await confirmation of this major shift in their personal lives.
