India’s Cricket billionaire reigns supreme with 70,000 Crore wealth
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): When we talk about the richest cricketers in India or the world, Virat Kohli’s name is likely the first to come to mind. However, you might be surprised to learn that Kohli isn't the wealthiest cricketer. That title goes to another Indian—Aryaman Birla. Aryaman, the son of Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, has played domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh and was also part of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
Despite not reaching international cricket, Aryaman has built an impressive fortune, with a net worth around 70,000 crores. Most of his wealth comes from trading and business ventures. In 2023, he was appointed director of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited and has been involved in the Birla Group. Although Aryaman retired from cricket at just 22, his career included notable domestic performances. He scored 414 runs in first-class matches, including a century and a half-century, and played a total of 9 first-class matches and 4 List A matches. Aryaman was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 IPL auction for 30 lakh as an all-rounder but never made his debut for the team, and was released in 2019. Despite his brief cricketing career, his business success has made him the wealthiest cricketer in the world.
