Demand for release of jailed farmers, BKU gave ultimatum till 22 December
Greater Noida (Uttam Hindu News): Farmers protesting in Gautam Buddha Nagar for their demands have been lodged in Luxor jail. These farmers have not been released yet. This includes farmer leaders of many organizations including Sukhbir Khalifa. Now, demanding their release, the Bharatiya Kisan Union has held a meeting on Sunday in which it has decided that if they are not released by December 22, then the Bharatiya Kisan Union will take a big decision on December 23, i.e. on Chaudhary Charan Singh's birthday. Along with this, the Bharatiya Kisan Union Lokshakti has also directed all the officials of its district that in at least one police station of every district in the whole of Uttar Pradesh, they will give symbolic arrest and submit a memorandum for the 129 agitating farmers of Gautam Buddha Nagar who are lodged in Gautam Buddha Nagar jail since December 3.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union Lokshakti has alleged that even the meeting with the four farmer leaders lodged in the jail is closed. No one is being allowed to meet them. It has come to light that they have also been kept in solitary confinement. This has been seen for the first time in independent India. Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lokshakti) leader Master Shyoraj says that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh may be angry with the farmers' movement in Gautam Buddha Nagar. But even if the administration wants to send them to jail instead of making symbolic arrests, we will happily go to jail in honor of our farmer brothers and will send this message to every district. This decision has been taken in consultation with the national office bearers of Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, everyone will follow it.
