Champions Trophy 2025: Team India Announced for Cricket Showdown
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The much-awaited schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025 has been officially announced. The prestigious tournament will take place from February 19 to March 9 across Pakistan and Dubai. The Indian team will compete in all their matches in Dubai, with any semifinal or final games also scheduled to be held in the same city. The official announcement of the Indian team for this mega event is expected by January 12.
In a significant development, the Indian Disability Cricket Team for the Champions Trophy has been confirmed, with 17 players selected to represent the nation. This marks the first Disability Champions Trophy since 2019. The selection process was conducted by the National Selection Panel of the Indian Disabled Cricket Council (DCCI) under the guidance of Head Coach Rohit Jalani, following a training camp held in Jaipur.
Vikrant Ravindra Kenny will captain the 17-member team, with Ravindra Gopinath Sante appointed as the vice-captain. Head Coach Rohit Jalani expressed confidence in the team, stating, "This is a balanced team ready to face any opponent." The Indian team’s first match will be against Pakistan on January 12, scheduled for 2:00 PM. Following that, India will face England on January 13, and Sri Lanka on January 15. India will play Pakistan again on January 16, followed by matches against England on January 18 and Sri Lanka on January 19. The final match of the tournament is set for January 21.
