Shock in Amritsar: IED Discovered Near Ajnala Police Station, Police Investigating

Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): An IED (Improvised Explosive Device) was discovered near the Ajnala Police Station in Amritsar on Sunday morning, triggering a tense atmosphere in the area. Local residents alerted the police after finding the device, which contained a significant amount of explosives. Authorities have cordoned off the area around the station, and no one is allowed to approach the vicinity. Police officers are currently investigating the situation, including reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify any suspects.

The police have taken the IED into custody and are conducting a thorough search of the surrounding area. Investigators are also trying to determine when the device was placed there, possibly overnight. This discovery follows similar incidents in other regions, including Mohali and Tarn Taran, and poses a significant challenge to security agencies.
