Punjab schools to close for winter holidays in December, but unpredictable weather keeps students on edge!

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Important information regarding winter holidays in Punjab has come to light. Typically, winter holidays are observed in schools across the country in December. It is expected that winter holidays in both government and private schools in Punjab will begin in the last week of December 2024. However, the exact dates will depend on the weather conditions and official notifications. Additionally, students will also get a holiday on Christmas.

It is worth mentioning that due to rain and poor air quality in the last week of November, many schools and colleges across the country shifted to online classes. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a change in the weather on December 8, which will affect Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. After clouds cover the city on Saturday night, there are expectations of rainfall on Sunday.

Cold and Fog to Increase After December 10

In higher regions, snowfall and rain are expected between December 8 and 10, which will have an impact on the plains as well. Following the snowfall, a cold wave generated by north-westerly winds will reach the plains. This will lead to a drop in temperatures and an increase in fog and cold weather after December 10.
