Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Saturday called upon teachers to integrate education with values to shape a better future for children and contribute significantly to nation-building. The Governor made this appeal while presiding over the 22nd annual function of Swami Mohan Dass Model School, where he honored meritorious students with awards. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kataria emphasized the pivotal role teachers play in molding the future of children through a harmonious blend of education and moral values. "The India envisioned by our ancestors can only be realized by infusing values along with education in our future generations, and teachers have a vital role in achieving this goal," he remarked.

Drawing on his own experiences as an educator, the Governor shared that he began his career as a teacher and found unparalleled satisfaction in the teaching profession, even when compared to his other prestigious roles. Highlighting the importance of environmental protection, the Governor quoted Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji: “Pawan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat.” He explained that understanding and embracing these teachings could inspire respect for natural resources and prevent their exploitation. He urged teachers to instill these lessons in students to ensure they become responsible stewards of the environment.

Praising Swami Mohan Dass Ji for his dedication to education and values, the Governor commended the institution for its commitment to holistic student development under Guru Maa Soma Devi Ji's leadership. Later, the Governor, accompanied by Special DGP Arpit Shukla, visited an exhibition organized by students. He lauded their innovative projects and unique ideas. The event began with a warm welcome extended to the Governor by Management Committee Chairman Lavlinder Verma, Secretary Sunita Sharma, Vice President Harnek Dhillon, and Principal Jatinder Kaur, who expressed gratitude for his presence at the school’s milestone event.
