Petrol bomb thrown at Shiv Sena leader's house ; third incident in 15 days carried out by bike-borne miscreants
Ludhiana (The Uttam Hindu): In Ludhiana, Punjab, around 2:45 AM last night, unknown bike riders attacked the residence of Harkirat Singh Khurana, the national president of the Shiv Sena Hindu Sikh wing, using petrol bombs. CCTV footage of the explosion has emerged, clearly showing the assailants on their bikes. Three miscreants were involved in this incident, and police have launched an investigation.
This marks the second attack in just 15 days. Previously, some youths threw a glass bottle filled with diesel outside the home of Shiv Sena Indian leader Yogesh Bakshi, resulting in a significant explosion. Harkirat Singh Khurana reported that he has been receiving threatening calls from unknown foreign numbers, including one just before the recent blast. He mentioned that for two days leading up to the incident, he had been receiving continuous threats over the phone. Following the attack, he received another message from an unknown number stating, “Wake up, now we have to take out everyone's house in Ludhiana. We have the addresses of all the houses.”
Khurana noted that senior police officials are in contact with him, and the police are confident that they will apprehend the culprits soon. This attack follows another incident where a diesel bomb was thrown at the home of Shiv Sena Bharatvanshi leader Yogesh Bakshi in New Chandra Nagar, which also resulted in a fire damaging his A-star car. After reviewing CCTV footage, the police identified two youths on a bike. Approximately five days ago, a case was registered against unidentified individuals in this matter. ACP Rajesh Sharma stated that the police are actively investigating multiple angles and are determined to locate and apprehend the attackers.
