New Initiative by Punjab Government Brings Good News to Residents
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has disbursed a total of Rs 9.51 crore to 1,867 beneficiaries under the Ashirvad Scheme. This financial assistance aims to support individuals from Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Scheduled Castes in the state.
Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, emphasized that the government is committed to the welfare of these communities and is working at an accelerated pace to address their needs.
As part of the Ashirvad Scheme, a sum of Rs 6.78 crore has been allocated to 1,331 beneficiaries from Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections across several districts, including Barnala, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Rupnagar, S.A.S. Nagar, S.B.S. Nagar, Sangrur, and Malerkotla. The scheme is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to uplift marginalized sections of society by providing financial aid and empowering them to improve their livelihoods.
The Punjab Government’s initiative under the Ashirvad Scheme reflects its dedication to social equity and the welfare of its vulnerable populations.
