Massive Shake-Up in Lawrence Bishnoi Case: Punjab Govt Approves Dismissal of Suspended DSP Gurshar Singh Amid Controversial Investigation!

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development regarding the Lawrence Bishnoi interview case, the Punjab government has approved the dismissal of suspended DSP Gurshar Singh. His file has been forwarded to the Punjab Police Services (PPS), and the Punjab DGP will be questioned about the investigation that led him to claim that the interview did not take place in Punjab. The court raised concerns about the DGP's quick clearance of the jails in Punjab, pointing out that he lacked the authority to conduct such an investigation. The court emphasized that if there was a mistake, it should be acknowledged.

Lawrence Bishnoi, originally from the village of Durataniwali in Punjab's Fazilka district, grew up to be an active and sporty individual. Despite his love for wrestling, his father envisioned him becoming an IAS officer. After completing his schooling in Abohar, Lawrence moved to Chandigarh and enrolled in DAV College, where his interest shifted toward student politics. It was during this time that he befriended Goldy Brar, who now operates abroad and works with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In 2011, Lawrence founded the "Student Organization of Punjab University" (SOPU) and contested elections under its banner, though he lost.

After this defeat, Lawrence became consumed by a desire for revenge. He bought a revolver and confronted the gang responsible for his loss. The situation escalated, and Lawrence fired shots, leading to a murder attempt case being filed against him. This marked his first significant encounter with the law. Over time, Lawrence became involved in criminal activities, aligning himself with the gangs of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Rocky Fazilka. Bhagwanpuria, hailing from Gurudaspur, mentored Lawrence in the underworld, giving him freedom to operate within illegal activities. In 2014, Lawrence was arrested in Rajasthan and sent to Bharatpur Jail. However, during a transfer to Mohali, he managed to escape police custody and fled to Nepal, continuing his criminal operations. He was arrested again in 2016 and has remained in prison since then.
