Massive fire breaks Out Near Police Station in Punjab, Panic Spreads
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A devastating fire broke out in a Travel and Tours building near Police Station Rama Mandi in Surya Enclave Jalandhar, causing extensive damage to all the belongings inside. The fire which started on the first floor of the building just meters from the police station, quickly spread with flames visible from a distance. Local residents alerted the fire department and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze.
Despite the severity of the fire important documents were saved thanks to the quick thinking of the building’s owner, Harvinder Singh. Singh explained that when he was notified by neighbors early in the morning about the fire he immediately contacted the fire department and rushed to the building helping to contain the flames. The building used for finance and overseas work fortunately had essential documents like visas and passports stored securely in a locker preventing any loss of critical paperwork.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown and authorities are continuing their investigation. This fortunate preservation of vital documents stands as a silver lining in an otherwise devastating incident.
