EC takes action: DSP of Dera Baba Nanak removed for election security
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Election Commission has ordered the removal of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posted in Dera Baba Nanak, following a complaint by Congress leader and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. In its directive, the Commission instructed that DSP Jasbir Singh be relieved of his duties immediately and that a panel of qualified officials be formed to fill the position in Dera Baba Nanak.
This action comes ahead of the by-election scheduled for November 20 in the Dera Baba Nanak Assembly constituency, where the election code of conduct is in effect. The Election Commission's decision follows Randhawa's allegations against the DSP, prompting the Commission to take corrective measures.
