New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a chilling 10-day digital scam, 82-year-old retired Colonel Dalip Singh and his wife Ranvinder Kaur Bajwa were duped out of their entire life savings of Rs 3.4 crore. The couple, residents of Sector 2-A in Chandigarh, were terrorized by fake video calls and fraudulent court notices from scammers posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials.

The ordeal began when the couple received threatening calls and notices, leading them to believe they were under investigation. Fearing legal repercussions, they were manipulated into transferring large sums of money to the fraudsters. It was only after an acquaintance tipped them off that the couple realized they had been scammed.

In response, the couple filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell of Chandigarh Police, which has since registered a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities are now investigating the matter to track down the culprits behind this shocking digital heist.
