Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In response to the rejection of Punjab’s rice samples by Karnataka, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that the FCI conducts a quality check before purchasing paddy every year, and only buys after meeting all the required standards. So how did Karnataka’s FCI division fail the samples? AAP MP and senior party spokesperson, Malwinder Singh Kang, said that the comments made by Karnataka about Punjab’s rice clearly indicate a large conspiracy against Punjab. He added that this year, the central government is reluctant to buy Punjab’s paddy at MSP (Minimum Support Price) and is making various excuses. These are just excuses to avoid buying paddy from Punjab.

In fact, this is being done as a part of revenge for the farmers' movement against the three black agricultural laws. Kang referred to a statement made earlier by former Chief Minister and BJP leader Captain Amarinder Singh, where he said, “The BJP government will not provide MSP for a long time.” He further stated that the central government’s intentions regarding this issue are under suspicion. The BJP wants to implement the black agricultural laws through the backdoor. From the very beginning, the central government’s intentions regarding MSP have been questionable, and this is clearly evident from the statements made by its ministers. Kang said that this incident again highlights the negative attitude of the Government of India towards farmers. This is nothing but a conspiracy to harass Punjab’s farmers and take revenge.
