Aadhaar Alert: Update your card now to avoid future hassles
New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): If your Aadhaar card is linked to a bank account, there’s important news you need to know. The government has introduced new rules requiring the updating of Aadhaar for banking services. If you don’t complete this update within February, you could face disruptions to your banking services and possibly a fine.
According to the UIDAI, if your Aadhaar is 10 years or older, it must be re-verified. Failing to update it could lead to a block on your banking and other government services.
Required documents for the update include:
- Identity Proof : PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, etc.
- Address Proof : Electricity Bill, Ration Card, Voter ID, Bank Statement, etc.
There are two ways to update your Aadhaar:
Online Method:
1. Visit the UIDAI website.
2. Select “Update Document” under "My Aadhaar."
3. Log in and upload the necessary documents.
4. After verification, your Aadhaar will be updated.
Offline Method:
1. Visit the nearest Aadhaar center.
2. Fill out the Aadhaar update form and submit the required documents.
3. Complete biometric verification.
4. You will receive a URN number to track the status of the update.
Previously, UIDAI offered this service free of charge, but now a fee has been introduced for Aadhaar updates. To avoid any complications or interruptions in your services, make sure you get your Aadhaar updated soon.
This is a crucial step, as delays may result in your banking services being blocked, making it all the more important to act swiftly and ensure your details are up-to-date. Take action before February ends to avoid any inconvenience.
