Talked About Divorce at 3 AM, Wife Said 'I Won't Dirty My Hands By Killing You,' Husband Commits Suicide
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A businessman in Delhi's Model Town area committed suicide. The deceased, identified as Puneet Khurana, had married in 2016 and was in the midst of a divorce case. The family alleges that Puneet took this drastic step due to harassment from his wife.
The final conversation between Puneet and his wife took place at 3 AM on the night of December 31. The two were discussing business matters and an audio recording of this conversation has surfaced. Police are investigating whether the business loss contributed to the suicide. Puneet and his wife ran a bakery business together but the divorce led to ongoing disputes between them. The wife reportedly said that divorce did not mean she should be excluded from the business.
Puneet's family accuses his wife of sending the recording of the last phone call to a relative. The police have recovered Puneet's phone and summoned his wife for questioning. However, no FIR has been filed yet, and the investigation is ongoing. Puneet's family claims that the harassment from his wife and her family led him to take his life. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Puneet had recorded a video before his suicide, in which he mentioned the abuse he endured from his wife and her parents. Police are now examining the video and other evidence.
