State-award-winning Kannada filmmaker Guruprasad has tragically taken his own life.

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Kannada film director Guruprasad, 52, recognized for his celebrated films such as "Mata," "Eddelu Manjunatha," and "Director’s Special," was reportedly discovered dead in his apartment in Madanayakanahalli, Bengaluru. Neighbors called the police after sensing a bad smell coming from his apartment. Upon investigation, police found Guruprasad hanging from a ceiling fan, indicating that he may have died several days earlier. Reports indicate that Guruprasad may have been experiencing pressure from creditors, which could have contributed to his decision to take his own life. The director, who had recently remarried, was also dealing with financial difficulties, including allegations regarding unpaid debts. In addition to his work as a director, Guruprasad had acted in several films and was actively working on his latest project, *Adema*, which was in production at the time of his death.
