Schools Adjust Timings as Cold Weather Sets In; New Schedule Begins December 1

Update: 2024-11-30 13:48 GMT

Bihar (The Uttam Hindu): As winter sets in across the country, many states have already started changing school timings, and Bihar is no exception. From December 1, school timings in Bihar will be changed due to the intensifying cold and thick fog that has gripped much of the region. The temperature has significantly dropped, especially in southern Bihar, where overcast conditions have worsened the chill.

Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog warning for 14 districts and this cold weather is to prevail for some more time. Although the daytime temperatures will keep declining, the night temperature would remain relatively stable. Considering these circumstances, the Bihar Education Department has announced the new school timing. School timings will now be 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM instead of the previous schedule 8:50 AM to 4:30 PM. Classes will start at 10:00 AM with a half-hour prayer period from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. There will be eight periods in a school day with lunch break for 40 minutes. These adjustments are made to ensure that the students are comfortable and safe during the cold season while allowing the academic calendar to run as smoothly as possible.
