Nationwide Disruption: GST E-Invoicing and E-Way Bill Portals Crash on New Year's Eve
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Traders preparing to celebrate the New Year received a major setback on December 31 when the GST e-invoicing and e-way bill portal suddenly crashed. Due to this technical glitch, traders faced significant difficulties with billing which adversely affected their businesses.
On the last day of the year, when traders were working to dispatch the maximum amount of goods and prepare for the New Year celebrations they found that the portal was not working while trying to generate e-invoices. Initially, traders thought it was a temporary issue but as time passed it became clear that the portal had encountered a serious technical fault.
In conversations with some traders, they mentioned that the glitch caused significant issues in sending goods to their customers. Many orders got stuck, leading to customer dissatisfaction. The exact cause of the portal crash has not yet been determined. However, experts believe that the problem may have arisen due to increased traffic or some technical malfunction. Traders' associations have urged the government to take immediate action in this matter. They stated that such technical failures cause considerable losses to businesses and that the government should make robust arrangements to address such issues in the future.
