Man and Two Children Killed in Fire After High-Tension Line Falls on Bike

Gorakhpur (The Uttam Hindu ): Panic broke out in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday when a high-tension power line fell on a motorcycle in Sonbarsha Bazaar. The bike caught fire, and the man riding it, along with his two children, were tragically engulfed in the flames, resulting in their deaths.

Upon receiving the distress call, the police rushed to the scene and attempted to take possession of the bodies. However, enraged locals protested and refused to allow the bodies to be moved. According to the police, the deceased man was approximately 24 years old, while his two children, who were riding with him, were aged 9 and 2 years.

The incident occurred in the AIIMS police station area. In response to the outrage from local residents, police officials have been working to calm the situation. The incident also drew the attention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who immediately took cognizance of the matter. He spoke with the District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), directing them to reach the site without delay. CM Adityanath expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and instructed authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.
