Jammu and Kashmir police dismantles new militant outfit linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba
Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu) : Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully dismantled a new militant group believed to be linked to the banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). According to officials, the Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of the J&K police conducted extensive raids across several districts, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama.
The group, identified as 'Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim' (TLM), is reportedly overseen by a Pakistani terrorist handler known as 'Baba Hamas.' Ongoing raids aim to further investigate and neutralize any remaining threats, with updates expected as the situation develops. In a separate operation on October 30, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police captured two terrorists connected to multiple attacks in the region.
The suspects, Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain, were apprehended in Surankote, Poonch district. The Union Territory has experienced a series of terror incidents in recent months, leading to the loss of security personnel and the deaths of several militants in gunfights.
