Income Tax Conducts Raids at 8 Hyderabad Locations Linked to Telugu Producer Dil Raju
Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): The Income Tax Department has conducted extensive searches at multiple properties belonging to prominent Telugu film producer Dil Raju in Hyderabad. The raids targeted eight locations, including his office and residences and involved 55 teams carrying out simultaneous operations.
The searches also extended to the homes of his relatives, including his brother Sirish and daughter Hansitha Reddy. These actions are part of an investigation into suspected tax evasion linked to Dil Raju whose real name is Velamkucha Venkata Ramana Reddy. Dil Raju is a renowned figure in the Telugu film industry and the owner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, a leading production house.
Recently appointed as Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation he has been actively producing films with two recent projects under his banner: "Game Changer" which has underperformed at the box office and "Sankrantiki Vastunnam" reportedly setting new revenue records. While the specific reasons behind the raids remain undisclosed the operation underscores the heightened scrutiny of financial practices within the film industry.
