Heinous Crime in Phalodi: Couple Kills Three Innocent Children

Phalodi (The Uttam Hindu) : A sensational incident has come to light in Jodhpur's Phalodi district. A dispute between husband and wife took the lives of three children. The parents killed three children including their two daughters by slitting their throats. After killing the three children, the couple also tried to commit suicide, but both survived. At present, both are undergoing treatment. Police said the incident took place on Monday night in Kolu Pabuji village in Phalodi tehsil of Jodhpur district. The couple's relatives found them lying in a pool of blood in the courtyard on Tuesday morning and informed the police. All five were rushed to a hospital, where the children were declared dead. He said the parents were undergoing treatment. Phalodi Superintendent of Police (SP) Pooja Awana said Shivlal and his wife Jatno Devo had a quarrel on Monday night, which led to the latter committing the horrific act. According to the SP, the couple first poisoned their son Harish (9) and daughters Kiran (5) and Nathu (3) and then strangled them. They then slit the children's arm veins with a blade and slit their throats with a knife. The couple then tried to commit suicide by slitting their wrists. SP Awana said Shivlal's brother's wife saw blood outside the house on Tuesday morning and alerted other family members, who in turn informed the police. Other family members are also being questioned

He said, "The police reached the spot and found the accused couple unconscious. The courtyard of the house was soaked in blood." An empty bottle of poison, a blade and a knife were recovered from the house. The SP said that information about the entire incident is being gathered. He said that other family members are also being questioned and efforts are being made to record the statements of the couple. He said that the bodies of the children have been sent to the mortuary.
