From Tikka to Tandoori: Punjab’s Culinary Legacy Ranked Among World’s Best

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Taste Atlas has released its "100 Best Food Regions in the World" for 2024-25. And at number 7 is Punjab. The rankings are based on over 477,000 ratings for 15,478 foods. Here's Punjab: tikka, Amritsari kulcha, tandoori murgh, and more. Among its most prominent eateries, Haveli and Kesar da Dhaba.


India's culinary presence is represented further by Maharashtra at the 41st place through street foods like misal pav and pav bhaji, and West Bengal at the 54th with fusion dishes like chingri malai curry. Southern India ranks 59th, showcasing iconic foods such as Hyderabadi biryani and masala dosa. While Indian cuisine ranks at 12th position on the "100 Best Cuisines in the World," these rankings showcase how India is gaining strength around the world in culinary power, with Punjab standing first.
